I live in a very rural area, and 2 summers ago I hit a stray momma cat on the road near my house. It was honestly one of the worst feelings I've ever experienced.

The next day, I drove by and found her litter of three ~5 week old kittens sitting on the side of the road. I grabbed them and took them in immediately-all orange, all with bright blue eyes.

I work in animal shelters, so I was able to get them fixed and adopted out. Ever since then, I slow down every single time I pass that house.

Last summer, I saw another momma cat and her four orange kittens playing in the road in the exact same spot. I left a note at the house with some kitten food, offering to help and get the momma spayed.

She texted me right away and was very grateful. I took in the momma (a flame point/Siamese- type) and her four kittens. Momma had bright blue eyes, the kittens were all orange with yellow eyes. I was able to get the two girls adopted together and the two boys together. I still have momma and I love her so much.

Fast forward to this week-l reached out again and offered to get all of her cats fixed. She has six unspayed females. I want to make sure this doesn't keep happening! I picked up three today (they get spayed tomorrow), and I'll get the other three in a few days.

But here's what really got me- The little black kitten I picked up today has the exact same eyes as the flame point and the kittens from two years ago. Not just blue-like insanely bright, clear, almost glowing blue.

And the orange girl I picked up today has the same orange stripes and the Siamese like jaw. It made me realize I have been interacting with the same family line this entire time

I know they all came from the same place, so I shouldn't be surprised—but it's wild that these features feel so rare, and I've somehow stumbled upon a whole stray bloodline of them. Either way, I thought it was kind of cool and wanted to share.

5280Aquarius I am so sorry about the car accident, but the fact that you've been able to turn it into something beautiful is really a testament to you, OP. You're doing a wonderful job with this family!

VassagoX I'm so sorry you went through that. I hated myself for weeks after hitting a rat that ran across the road on me. If it was a cat? Oh, I don't know how I would feel. I'm glad you were able to help these babies grow into marvelous beasts.
